The past two or three days had been full of firsts..
My First Airplane ride:
One of my childhood dreams is to ride an airplane. Actually it was one of mode of transportation that I haven't tried yet. So going to Canada will require me to ride an airplane thus dream come true. I was going to ride a plane not once but thrice. Since we have two connecting fligts, first is from Manila to Hongkong then Hongkong to Vancouver and finally, Vancouver to Winnipeg.
My experience wasn't actually a superb but its not tragic also. I just didn't enjoy the entire thing. A defective seat, looooong airport walks (nothing beats Hongkong Airport so far for me!), a bumpy ride, nausea, gas pains, not-so-delicious airplane meal, nose bleed, and delayed flight (4 hours delay!!!).
As I said it was not a tragic one too. I got window seat, they served Hagen-Daz ice cream, the movie selections on the plane was good (Dream Girls was one of the movies you can choose to watch but I settled for Happy Feet since the domestic flight from Vancouver to Winnipeg is only 2 hours and 40 minutes), and a complimentary head set.
My First Taste of Canada:SNOW!
Yup the moment I stepped out of Winnipeg Airport I immediately felt the chill. It's like entering a freezer. Sobrang lamig and muntik ko ng hindi kayanin. Snow are everywhere. Although I want to experice snow falling from the sky.
Even when you were inside your house it is still cold, mind you may heater na yun. Pag binubuksan nga yung door eh para kang nagbukas ng ref.
Winnipeg is way different from Philippines. Actually, it is how I imagine Canada. Yung parang napapanood mo sa movies or sa foreign TV shows ganun yung dating. Yesterday, pumunta rin kami sa downtown (kung baga sa metro manila ito yung makati) para asikasuhin yung SIN and Health Card number namin sobrang ganda, I mean, no traffic tas meron talagang metro kung magpapark ka sa tabi ng kalasada. Kaso sobrang lamig nung naglakad kami lalo na pag humahangin.
Sana kayanin ko ang life dito...
